The Little Sisters of Jesus were originally founded for the nomads of the Sahara. Then, an intense spiritual experience left L.sr. Magdeleine with “something like a wound in the heart”, an immense compassion for all suffering, a love that would burn and drive her to the ends of the earth. L.sr. Magdeleine couldn’t do otherwise than to consent to this Love. Foundations multiplied like “soap bubbles” over the five continents. “I want you to be light, as light as a soap bubble that a child at play can blow in all directions. Like a ball that the child Jesus can turn and toss in his hands according to his will.” (L.sr. Magdeleine). We are at present a little more than nine hundred little sisters present in some fifty countries.
